Gambit # 1 gold was a limited variant, not 2nd print.
I'd add:
New Warriors 1 Gold
Hulk 377 Gold
Youngblood # 1 Gold
New Mutants 95 Gold
Uncanny X-Men # 248 Gold
Uncanny X-Men 275 Gold
Spectacular Spider-Man 189 Gold
Web of Spider-Man 90 Gold
X-Factor 71 Gold
Apparently there was also Amazing Spider-Man # 390, but that's late enough that I wasn't collecting, and I didn't know it was "key" enough to warrant a reprint (like the others on this list). |

I've updated the list. And I want to stick on this because honestly, and this maybe the nostalgia talking, but these are cool books to own in some sort of CGC collection. Some of these were more classic than others but as a whole, how cool would it be to own all of them in 9.8? |

That's true. It'd be a cool quest, kind of like getting all the 25th Anniversary Marvel covers (the 1987 issues with the portraits). Word is the Star Comics issues are the hardest of those... |

Also found New Mutants 95 Gold Cover 2nd print and X-Factor 60 2nd print Gold Cover. They seem less epic but were out in the same period. |

Yeah--the Ghost Rider 5 was the first gold 2nd print to take off and actually be worth more than the first print for awhile ($10-$15 vs. $6-$8 for the first).
Star Comics weren't 2nd prints. I meant they're the hardest to find of the "25th Anniversary Marvel" covers from 1987. All the Marvel titles that month had a portrait of the main character, surrounded by a border of all the major Marvel superheroes. |

Here's a question I'm trying to answer while digging through all this... When do we decide the era of 2nd gold cover prints ends? I mean at some point 2nd prints done in gold covers stopped being second prints and became the "variants". I'm not sure when that happened. And also, some of these 2nd gold prints sort of sucked towards the end. They were so obviously cash grabs that they lost any sort of luster.
There was just this very small period sometime in the 90-92 period where comics legitimately had 2nd printings because the first print sold out and and Marvel distinguished them from 1st prints by making the cover gold. |

Ghost Rider #5 added to the list. |

ASM #375 was released as a gold foil cover in the first printing. I'm unaware of any second printing, I don't think there was one. The gold foil is not the same the gold ink you are identifying with the other 2nd print covers in your list. |

And what about the silver ink 2nd printings from Marvel? ASM 265, 362, and 363 off the top of my head.
Actually ASM 265 has the silver ink but I don't know if it can be called a true 2nd printing because it was released over 5 years later as a reprint after the original printing (1st Silver Sable). |

Good call! I remember that one (ASM 265) well.
That was the summer that anyone cared about Silver Sable. |

Thanks for the clarification. The book has been removed from the list. |

Very cool idea as well. We need to start a new thread about Silver 2nd printings. |
