Applause

Is that new? Mind if I ask what you paid? I'm interested because I just sold my 3.0 (off-white to white, slightly better wrap) for $1150. If I'd known you were looking, would have sold to you.

You know what is weird? I have some damn good keys here and yet I STILL don't feel like I'm of the caliber of the posters on the CGC boards. And what's even stranger is that someone had a group shot of his Silver Age keys of which I owned all but three myself in various grades and yet, for one reason or another, I don't feel like I can play with the big boys yet.

Same problem with my Golden Age collection. I don't know why that is.

Confused

Whatevs. It's because there are a few dozen of the best comic dealers in the world on the CGC boards. Hard to compete against folks who have $500k+ in inventory at any given time.

I'm (finally) feeling like I'm a respected member over there only now that I've participated for four years, amassed 1,500+ posts, have had one successful sales thread and finally have the world's best run of one small niche Silver Age title.

Frankly, I never _want_ to be one of the "big boys" over there who has 20k+ posts (umm...how about a life?) and/or is dependent on comics for my income (would take all the fun out of it).

I have to take a break from that place. Especially when there are agenda driven people only interested in pushing their hot books or pet theme. I love Dave Steven art, but why on Earth is the Dave Stevens thread updated hourly?

I think that if the IRS was tracking the big boys closely, those guys would get killed on taxes.

I've slowed down over there as well. Just tons and tons of "pushers" on all of the forums. Sucks really. It use to be all about the comics but now it's all about what's hot but not really. Just what they want to be hot so they can sell it for fast $$. Neutral

That's a good attitude Rai-Fan. I suppose when you can show a group shot of 12 awesome Silver Age keys you get down on yourself a little but when you have 5 really good ones you should be proud. Thanks for the good upbeat post and keep collecting those small niche Magnus books! Thumbs Up
