Found out that my copy of "Is This Tomorrow?" is a Windy City Pedigree copy. It's reportedly a later printing that is less common because it has a price on it and wasn't distributed through schools.

I bought this from Ward Batty who worked for the CSN publication. He had a short-lived comic book store in the metro Atlanta area.

If I was going to but comics again, these are what I'd collect.
Charlton Adult Humor comics. They are pretty darn rare and most of the titles were never really listed in the price guides.

The later Adult Humor comics were a thin magazine sized format.

Charlton had about 4 or 5 series that started in 1959 or the early 60's.

Here is another #1

This comic was given to me as a gift for hooking up a dealer with a huge Golden age collection to buy.

This comic was given to me by the guy selling the Golden age collection as thanks for helping him sell it. I came out good on both ends and didn't spend a dine.

This was the last comic I bought before retiring as a collector. I was happy with the price when I bought it because I thought it was rare. Later I found out a warehouse find had been discovered and it's neither rare nor is it especially hard to find in nice shape.

Still a cool comic.

This is a discovery I found while compiling my Charlton Checklist.

Comic Book Guide for the Artist Writer Letterer #nn

I was trying to buy the first printing that had a color cover. I ended up getting a rarer 2nd printing with a B&W cover. This had never been mentioned before online until I scanned it.

It includes the comics code guidelines which are cool to read.

I picked this up from Vaultkeeper.

The Charlton expert didn't know it existed.

I later bought a #4 also which the Charlton experts didn't know existed either.

I've never seen a #2 or #3,,, or any other issues.

I was reading an eBay auction listing and discovered that EC had used Charlton's printer to publish the first printing of Impact #1. It was recalled and considered far less common to find. The first printing has a white logo. The more common 2nd printing has a yellow logo. No Gaines file copies of the first printing were uncovered in his stash.

Upon looking in my collection, I actually owned the harder to find version.

Here's another comic/magazine that the Charlton experts didn't know existed. I discovered it by accident at a local comic show.

Campus Humor #1

Marvel later published magazine with the same name.

I found a short run of this magazine. I thought it was cool when I was drawing my cartoon. You don't really see them much.

I was going for 2 sets of the Distributor Limited TPB's. These are similar to the Unity TPB's that Diamond released. They are comics bound into TPB's by the distributors. Quite pricey.

Batman Blind Justice

Spawn Capital Collection

There are more. If I locate the scans, I'll post them.

My oldest Iron Man comic. I bought this in the early 80's and didn't pay much. I might've still been in high school. It has a lot of Marvel chipping.

This comic and Micronauts #1 taught me a lot about investing. Both were $10 books in the 80's when I bought them. Which was the better deal?

Don't confuse current fads with iconic legends.
