Good call! I remember that one (ASM 265) well.

That was the summer that anyone cared about Silver Sable. Frustrated

I don't recall any period of time where Silver Sable was considered "Hot" although I do recall her 1st app to be somewhat desired in Amazing Spider-Man. Of course I started collecting Amazing Spider-Man around issue #346 so she was probably long since forgotten by than. Razz

She was hot in the Wizard-fueled run-up to her solo series (1993). Silver foil cover & all.

As soon as they announced it, Wizard spotlighted ASM 265 and 265 went from being a $5 to a $30 book in short order.

Bingo, her solo series wasn't half bad in the beginning but the character was only 'hot' for 6-8 monthes

I just saw that the CGC board members are now interested in second and third prints as well. Although they aren't just focusing on Gold and Silver covers I have to wonder how much our boards sometimes effect the trends over there (if at all). Think

I saw it but didn't read it. I don't have a real interest in them.

Looks like STL Comics have taken over some of the responsibility of combined a list for us here. Man, this was a fast idea/thread. We just start talking about it, someone on the CGC mentioned it and now everyone is jumping into doing it. Rolling Eyes

Roger (Metarog) at STL stays on top of that stuff.

You just learned a lesson I've taught for years. Collect the things you want in secret... then break the news. $$$$
If you think a subset of things to collect is pretty interesting, others will likely feel the same way. Once a checklist exists and a rarity factor calculated... good luck on getting it cheap.

Well best way to find out the information you need is to ask around and figure it out. I just didn't expect someone to ask that same question in the CGC forums and that the thread would become popular so fast. Crap! Sad

Had to reluctantly add Stryfe's Strike File #1 gold to the list. It IS a second printing gold and it was done in 1993. I'm pretty sure I remember seeing this on the comic rack thinking, 'Man does this comic reak of lameness'.

I have about a quarter of those listed on both the silver and the gold 2nd printing list so far. The problem isn't finding them, the problem is finding them in NM from eBay sellers who know what NM means. Frustrated

Not a must investment at all but they are fun to own. Definitely a lot of nostalgia wrapped up in these 2nd and 3rd printings. I am of the belief that these might be hot in another 2 or three years. Smile

UXM 282 2nd print is a cool book to have. Thumbs Up
