Finally starting to see some CBCS graded books materialize on ebay. Will be interesting to see where these end up in relation to CGC graded counterparts.

Here are a few...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/SHOWCASE-34-61-CBCS-5-5-FN-white-pgs-1st-SA-Atom-New-Grading-Service-/151372171712?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item233e7c09c0

http://www.ebay.com/itm/X-MEN-11-65-CBCS-6-5-FN-1st-app-STRANGER-Jack-Kirby-Stan-Lee-/400752078990?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item5d4eaf708e

http://www.ebay.com/itm/X-MEN-7-64-CBCS-7-0-F-VF-2nd-Blob-early-app-Scarlet-Witch-Quicksilver-/400752080634?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item5d4eaf76fa

Curious if Lyria will be picking up CBCS books in the filters? Think

So if there were any CBCS books that hit the activity thresholds I assume they would show up in the "Show only CGC Graded" filter?

I am not familiar with CBCS. Any information on whether its quality or not?
Other grading services outside of CGC have somewhat flopped. It would be nice if we had the competition.

This is genuine competition because the founder of CBCS was the creator of CGC who left and waited until his non-compete contract expired.

It looks like they just launched their site too. And, it is FREE MEMBERSHIP!!! https://www.cbcscomics.com/#/index

EDIT: I just went and checked out the site. Their Grader Notes are free w/ the membership. I pulled up a comic on eBay, plugged in the barcode #, and BOOM!!!! There are the notes. Very nice.

Thanks for that info j_scott.. The website is 1000 % more friendly than CGC.

And the best are the prices (you can add $8 for each tier if you want it fast) and of course the free graders notes ...

Their case hasn't yet grown on me. CGC case looks professional, PGX's case doesn't (although PGX has some things that I like too). CBCS case falls somewhere in between. I almost want to send in a lower graded book just to get it back and analyze the case.

Bottom line will be how well they sell on eBay. Thumbs Up

You are right , PGX despite of the well looking and solid case doesn´t sell well because they dont know how to grade. So in my opinion it will depend of how well they grade.
I worked some years in the digital market industry and CBCS website is very professional with the best practices : visible call to action "submit your comic" , easy explanation of how it works and easy explanation of the services. I contacted them yesterday 11pm and got my answer today 8am ... "Mr Schnadower blah blah blah ...

I was sent this url of a CBCS comic, Giant-Sized X-Men #1, which was graded 9.4 and sold for $1,650 which is right up there with GPA's numbers for CGC comics thus far. So a promising start.
