I like your list. I also like the inclusion of the Mary Jane Venom, as that is a very rare book. I often times look for "rare" books to be on the look out for, and this is one of them as I complete my ASM run 1-800. |

Seriously!
I'm not even close to any complete Marvel/DC Silver Age runs -- let alone taken it up to present day.
I've flirted with Daredevil a few times (common, relatively cheap) but never had more than 20 or so of the first 50 issues at once.
Now I have exactly one -- a CGC 6.5 copy of Daredevil # 1, Stan Lee sig |

Daredevil was my first love in superhero comics. I am working on that run now. Pretty good, just need a few top 20 books (like #1) and a few holes to fill.
Didn't mean to hijack. Venom is a totally cool character. Revived Marvel in my opinion. |

I have X-Men #1-350 at least. Maybe more. I'm not a high grade collector, but I have two #1's and I considered collecting 2 sets of the 1st 100 up until I gave away a #2 to a friend as a favor. I'm working on a complete set up Tales To Astonish, but I'm still only about 3/4ths of the way. Local shows just haven't had VG or better of the ones I need. |

When I was unemployed circa 1991, I pulled all of my comics out and read X-Men #1-192 straight through. I was most amused by an issue in the 40's... maybe 46. Scott became a DJ and Jean became a model. It was just completely out in left field. |

I've never read the original X-Men.
While I once owned a copy of X-Men 1, I don't care about 1-93.
My first ever comic was X-Men comic Classic X-Men 35 back in 1989, which reprinted # 129 and began the Dark Phoenix saga.
First off the shelf was # 251, which was mad confusing since it was post-Fall of the Mutants when they were all still "dead."
I read monthly from 251-310, and eventually extended my collection backwards to # 104.
Never actually completed GS # 1/94-and up because I never got GS # 1 or 96-103.
For me, the X-Men basically start at GS # 1 (and later, X-Factor).
Ditto -- New Mutants for me start with Liefeld at # 86 -- I've read some earlier issues in the teens & 20s but never liked/cared for them.
I've thought about going back and collecting 94-143 in CGC 9.4 or better, but that's a long slog given that the books are ~$100 apiece. |

I remember buying GS X-Men #1 & X-Men #94 off of a spinner rack at a drug store. I remember pulling it them off the rack and wondering what the hell they were. Who were these new characters! Why did #94 not feature the promised X-Men vs. Avengers! Why did they introduce Thunderbird and kill him! Why don't they feature Sunfire more! |

In case you've been living under a rock the last month or so a major Venom key not on that list is Venom: Lethal Protector # 4.
Why?
First appearance of the two major confirmed villains for the film
- Riot (the rumored big bad symbiote) and
- Scream (the female symbiote, who appears to initially infect Eddie Brock).
Conventional wisdom is Woody Harrelson is indeed playing Carnage but -- at best -- we'll get just a post-credits Cletus Kasady cameo -- setting up a more substantial Woody Harrelson / Carnage conflict in the sequel.
No word yet on whether the other symbiotes from the Lethal Protector series will appear (I believe there were five of them (?)) |

This all seems like foolish speculation. I'm just going to focus on long time true keys. I'm too old for this crap anymore. lol. |

I don't think anyone will care about Venom after his movie bombs. |
